Settled quietly in the heart of San Miguel’s Zona Centro, this café draws a steady stream of locals and visitors alike, all seeking its specialty churros paired with rich, comforting hot chocolate. The churros come in small, simple servings or filled with a variety of sweet flavors like cajeta, rompope, or Nutella, making them a versatile choice any time of day. Alongside these, the café offers a selection of more substantial dishes like enchiladas and a juicy hamburger, which gently broaden the menu beyond sweets.
The atmosphere is cozy and calm, nestled within a historic neighborhood that lends a casual but intimate vibe. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself lingering over a late breakfast or settling in with a warm drink and churros as the afternoon unwinds. It’s popular enough that a wait is common, especially during typical brunch, lunch, and dinner hours, but the effort is part of the experience without feeling rushed or crowded. Seating is comfortable, and there’s a friendly pace to the service, with table service and an onsite bar enhancing the relaxed mood.
This spot tends to attract a mix of groups—from college students to tourists—who enjoy a quiet corner for solo dining or catching up with friends. Families with children are welcome too, with high chairs available and a casual setting that feels approachable. Those coming for a quick bite or a leisurely brunch will find accommodating options, though reservations can be handy during busier times. Do keep in mind that this café operates on a cash-only basis, which is worth preparing for ahead of your visit.

"Good service, flavorful food, reasonable prices and calm atmosphere."
"🤮🤢 We ordered a couple dishes with chicken and the chicken was spoiled!!!"
"Nice restaurant, great prices for the overpriced San Miguel."
5 We have been for 3 days in the city and we visited the place 3 times. It is really awesome. Original, friendly and so tastefull what you get. Definitely you should go here!
4 San Agustín serves good churros. The place is so popular that you’ll likely have to wait quite a while, but the atmosphere is lovely and cosy, definitely worth the visit.
5 Well it definitely lived up to it's reputation as the best churros in SMA! I had a sencillo and a stuffed one with cajeta. It was really delicious and I highly recommend this place. Just keep in mind, they only take cash, no cards.
5 Café San Agustín is the place to go if you’re craving something sweet and absolutely magical. This churro spot is famous for a reason it truly lives up to the hype. We tried a few different options, and my personal favorite was the Lechera. If you love caramel, you won’t be disappointed. A close second was the Cajeta, also delicious. One note to take into consideration, this is a very popular place so don’t be in a rush when visiting, the staff put you on a waiting list and are super helpful. But bare in mind that you might need to wait 15 minutes. A must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth!
5 We had the white and milk hot cocoa and churros for dessert! It was simply delicious. Cash only!!
5 They serve upscale food. I had the stuffed chicken breast. It was good, but not great. My husband had the fajitas. The churros and chocolate we're amazing. Nice quiet atmosphere, even though they are always packed.
5 The best churros I’ve had in my life. It was so addicting and just overall delicious. A lot of churros I’ve had before just feel too oily and I don’t go beyond 1 piece but this one, no. I could have had more pieces if I didn’t just come from a big meal. It was really that good. We also had an iced latte and iced chocolate and they had different options for the chocolate but we for the iced one, I think this is the only option. It was the French chocolate one and it was also delicious. Perfectly refreshing and perfectly paired with the churro. I would go back to SMDA just for this alone.
5 This Churrería is belong to Una actriz Argentina Margarita Gralia. This is a popular spot Get there early the lines are long. The churros are amazing, the hot chocolate delicious. It is worth the wait
Customers rave about the churros, especially the stuffed ones with cajeta and the Lechera variety. Don’t miss their hot cocoa for a perfect pairing.
It’s great for both—a cozy, casual place where you can enjoy a quick churro or settle in for a relaxed coffee and dessert experience.
The cafe is very popular and often busy, so visiting outside typical meal times might help, but be prepared for a wait during peak hours.
Chocolates y Churros San Agustín works well for both solo visits and small groups, with cozy seating that suits casual meetups or quiet moments alone.
This place only accepts cash, and there is free street parking nearby. There is no wheelchair-accessible parking lot available.
